If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify event staff on-site; please note that we cannot guarantee your exclusion from wide-shot, ambient, or incidental recordings of the event.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To process your event registration and communicate event logistics

5. Sharing With Event Sponsors

NextUp Conference is made possible in part through the support of third-party event sponsors (“Sponsors”). By registering for NextUp, you agree and consent that we may share your registration information, including your name, organization, email address, and job title, with Sponsors for their own marketing and promotional purposes.  This consent applies regardless of whether you attend NextUp.

Consent

By registering for and/or attending a NextUp event, you consent to having your contact information shared with event Sponsors as described in this Policy. If you later decide to unsubscribe, your personal information will not be shared with Sponsors.

What Sponsors Receive

Sponsors who receive your information may use it to contact you about their products, services, and offerings. Each Sponsor’s use of your data is governed by that Sponsor’s own privacy policy. NextUp and LeagueApps are not responsible for how Sponsors use information once it has been shared.

Withdrawing Consent

You may withdraw your consent to Sponsor data by contacting us at nextup@leagueapps.com. Please note that withdrawal of consent does not affect any sharing that occurred prior to your withdrawal, or Sponsors’ independent use of data already received.

California Residents (CCPA Notice)

For California residents, sharing personal information with Sponsors for their marketing purposes may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). By opting in, you consent to this sharing. You may opt out at any time by visiting the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on nextupconference.com or by contacting us at nextup@leagueapps.com. Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws (see Section 12) may have similar rights to opt out of this sharing where it is considered a “sale” of personal information under their state’s law; the same opt-out methods described above apply.

6. LeagueApps as Registration Platform

NextUp is a brand name; LeagueApps is the entity that provides the NextUp Conference event and operates its registration and management platform, and LeagueApps is responsible for processing registrant data collected in connection with the event. LeagueApps may also use registration data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy, available at leagueapps.com. By registering through the LeagueApps platform, you agree to LeagueApps’ terms and privacy practices in addition to this Policy.

7. Other Disclosures

We may also share your personal information:

  • With service providers who assist in operating the conference (e.g., venue staff, catering, AV, or technology vendors), under confidentiality obligations
  • With LeagueApps affiliates and partners involved in delivering the event
  • If required by law, court order, or government authority
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets
  • To protect the rights, safety, or property of NextUp, LeagueApps, attendees, or others

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including for a reasonable period after an event to handle follow-up communications, billing inquiries, and record-keeping. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 10).

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Registration transactions are encrypted using SSL technology. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of Sponsor data sharing (see Section 5)
  • Opt out of marketing communications by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email or contacting us directly

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at nextup@leagueapps.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within 30 days (or as required by applicable law).

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered attendees by email and update the Effective Date above. Your continued participation in NextUp events following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

12. Additional U.S. State Privacy Rights

In addition to the California-specific rights described in Section 5, if you are a resident of certain other U.S. states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws — including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, and others — you may have similar rights, subject to your state’s specific requirements and any applicable exemptions:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal data, and access that data
  • Correct inaccuracies in your personal data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable format
  • Opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and (where applicable) certain profiling
  • Appeal a denial of a privacy request, where required by your state’s law
  • Not be discriminated or retaliated against for exercising any of these rights, including through denial of goods or services, a different price or rate, or a different level or quality of goods or services

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 13 below; we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity before completing your request.

We will generally respond to a verifiable request within 45 days of receipt; if needed, we may extend this period by an additional 45 days, in which case we will notify you of the extension and the reason for it. We may need to verify your identity (and, in some cases, request additional information) before processing your request, using information you provide during registration. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to our ability to verify the agent’s authority to act for you. If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal our decision by contacting us at nextup@leagueapps.com with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line; we will respond to your appeal within the timeframe required by your state’s law (generally within 45–60 days). If your appeal is denied, some states permit you to contact your state Attorney General to submit a complaint.
